For over 20 years, Carl Feddema has helped clients create spaces that are more than the sum of their parts.
His design philosophy is simple - everything is connected, and if people want to thrive, then the birds, bees, flowers and trees need to thrive as well.
That's why Carl founded Unitas Project - to transform one yard at a time with a unified design that nurtures both humans and the world around us.

The Unitas Process

Let's Talk
Contact Unitas Project to set-up a free 20-minute phone consultation with Carl. He'll ask you what you have in mind for your space and what your budget is. If it feels like a good fit, you can make an appointment for Carl to come visit you.

Let's Connect
Carl will do an on-site consultation with you on his visit. He'll ask you questions to help determine what you really want - how you see yourself in your space, what kinds of activities you'd like to be able to do, and how you want it to feel. He'll also provide you with a rough estimate of the total project cost, all-in.

Let's Design
If you decide to hire Carl, then it's time to conduct a property site survey and sign a contract. With the site survey, Carl will take the precise measurements of your property and use them to create a sketch plan, two perspective drawings, and one elevation drawing for the project. He'll also prepare a mood board that capture the overall look and feel of the project. Then, Carl will present all of that to you two to four weeks after the site survey is completed.

Let's Get to Work
Once you're satisfied with the design of the project, you can hire Carl to manage the project itself. Within two to six weeks (depending on the scale of the project), he'll work up the construction drawings - which serve as the precise blueprint for your project. Then, he'll send the design out to competitive tender to hire construction contractors, help you file paperwork for the necessary permits, and take care of all the details so you don't have to.

Let's Build
Once you've hired your contractor, it's time to build. Carl will be by your side at every step of the way to manage all the moving parts, keep the project moving along, and pay attention to the fine details that will bring your vision to life.

Let's Plant
Once your landscape project is under construction, it's time to start working on your garden designs - because plants and flower are what will give your project that magical feel. Once the gardens are planted your property will transform into a space where you will be proud to host and entertain family and friends while you cultivate a deeper sense of mindfulness and purpose.

Now that your dream project is completed, it's time to enjoy it! Whether you're relaxing with a coffee on your new breakfast terrace or hosting evening drinks by the fire with friends, you're sure to thrive in your outdoor oasis.
