Satisfaction is Success

Satisfaction is Success

Why do I do what I do?

After all, its hard, physical work

Long days

Work in all kinds of weather conditions from the heat of summer to the cold and damp mornings of Spring and Fall

But there’s a rhythm to the day, to the week, to the project

A cadence, a tempo that feels congruent

Sometimes I feel absolutely exhausted and my body completely worn

But something keeps drawing me in

Something keeps calling me back

The opportunity to create

To create beauty and inspire transformation

To create a space for pollinators, birds, and humans to enjoy

To encourage sustainability through carbon drawdown

To work with heart and mind committed to detail and excellence

An expression of who I am

I love the feel of the saw in my hands as I cut through granite or concrete

The level as I set a grade

Absolute delight when planting a tree

Designing and planting a garden is a work of wonder and patience

How will this new found community of plants evolve

Who will drink deeply from this rich tapestry of soil, root, stem and flower

Satisfaction

Deep satisfaction

This is why I do what I do

Until next time

Thrive in harmony.
